Friday, September 27, ALL LOCATIONS of the Allen County Public Library are closed for Staff Development Day. We use this day to gather from 15 locations scattered across the county. We will hear from our library director, have a chance to see colleagues whom we see perhaps only on this day, and choose from a number of learning sessions. It is nice to have a change in routine during which we can be casual and socialize a bit.
Our afternoon learning sessions vary greatly as the kinds of jobs in the library run the gamut from housekeeping to security and finance and librarian and lots of jobs in between. Here are some the options from which staff will be able to choose: “Customer Service for Librarians,” “Affordable Care Act & Libraries,” “How to Look at Your Photographs, Analyze, and Organize,” “Personal Budgeting,” “Baby & Toddler Storytimes,” “Maker Station Tour,” “Hands-On Self Defense,” “PERF for Pre-Retirees” and “A to Z Databases,”
We hope to return to you rejuvenated and with a new idea or two. Main Library will open again at 9 a.m. and branch libraries at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Be aware that Fort-4-Fitness is Saturday; you may have trouble accessing some libraries on the F4F Route. See you then!
